apparently, this is the monthly entry. let's see if i can get this done before i have to go back to the salt mines.

my company ordered a new computer for me from ebay last month. we buy hundreds of items from different ebay sellers, and we have spent tens of thousands of dollars with no problems at all. but this time was different. this time... through a series of little things... someone didn't check the feedback rating on the seller [which was 0] ... and we got ripped off. he cashed our check and ran. to the tune of $2800. it really, really, REALLY sucks.

so i have been without a "good" computer in my office for a month now. i have the one that was deemed too slow for the interns to use... and this entry is taking forever. it is very frustrating to watch work pile up and not be able to do anything about it. totally different than choosing not to do it.

yeah ... i am so scatterbrained.

so.... like 6 years ago i had this really cool little mini mechanical pencil that my then-boss gave me because she thought it didn't work right. turned out that it just needed a new piece of lead... she wasn't a fan of mechanical pencils so she let me keep it. it was my favorite thing in LIFE. i love LITTLE things.

then i lost it. somewhere. and it has been bugging me for 6 years and three houses. every 9 months or so i get a bug in my head about finding the pencil and i tear through every possible storage place for our "old" stuff trying to find it. cuz i know i have never had it in this house.

it never occured to me to look for it online until last night. duh!

so this morning a search for "mini mechanical pencil steel" revealed that what i want is a Zebra Pocket Pencil, available online from daytimer.com for a huge price of $6.95!!!!!! i am so excited!!!! i hope i can buy one. it would be so cool! and for an extra $5 we can even have it engraved so it might get back to me if i leave it around somewhere.

when hubby is out of town, i find i can't get a thing done. i really rely on him to give me focus and direction, to help me gather my energies and stick to one task without getting sidetracked or overwhelmed. i hate it when he goes on business trips.

for example. [he's gone right now, btw]. he wanted me to take digital photos of the stuff i've been bugging him to post on ebay. so i finally made it upstairs at like 10:40 to start pulling clothes out of the closet to get ready to take pictures. at midnight i had so much stuff out of the closet that i couldn't walk, i was totally overwhelmed and distracted, and i couldn't figure out what to do next. and i got on a "find the pencil" kick. i have clothes laying out all over our loft and now i have to figure out a way to take pics of them. i just can't stay focused on one thing for more than ten minutes at a time. maybe i'm ADD. my brother is. it would make sense to have it run in the family. who knows.

who cares?

i am sure that there was something else that i wanted to post but the keyboard is starting to irritate my fingers. plus i can go check my other email in like, 5 minutes.... so i'm going to go. maybe sometime i will post when i've had more than 2.5 hours of sleep and i might make more sense.

later kiddies
