i'm wearing my grandma's class ring today. she graduated from high school in 1925. it needs to get fixed - the letters were made by engraving intoa red stone of some sort and then filling in with silver leaf. the ring is supposed to say "FHS" instead it says "F45", leaving the viewer with a sense of "huh?". also, the gold wore so thin on the band that it actually broke in the back. i'd love to get it fixed before my reunion THIS WEEKEND but i'm sure there is not time for that.

i experienced a DUH moment this morning when talking with my best friend, who happens to be married to one of my classmates. during the course of the conversation it came out that the reunion is this weekend... the 29th. now, all this time, i've been thinking that it was the 6-7 of july, based on the tentative dates proposed several months ago.

no, i did not READ the flyer that came out to sign up for it.

i would have felt like such an idiot. cuz i would have gone next weekend instead! so now i have 4 days to figure out where we are staying and what to bring for the perfect reunion appearance. which probably means shopping. ugh.

my grandpa's prostate cancer has spread to his bones. he has cancerous "masses" on both femurs, his pelvis, and on his ribs. there's nothing they can do about it except give him something for "pain management". they say he has between 6 months and 2 years to live.
