alright, then. i know that i should be feeling inspired... but i'm not! i'm sorry. i hate to disappoint you all with uninspired drivel.... of course, the discerning reader will note that it is ALL drivel... but i digress. sort of.anyway; i just feel somewhat talked out. but i do have some cool things to report so i shall attempt to muster enthusiasm so the proper people are not disappointed. it is not that i'm not happy... just that i'm a bit tired RIGHT now. so.. here's the news to youse!
first: french this morning.
i studied for the quiz. i sucked on the quiz. i am pissed at myself for being such an idiot.
if i'm lucky, the teacher will assume that i knew what i was talking about and just spelled my verb slightly wrong. of course... i asked a question after we all handed in the quiz that pretty well gave away taht i was confused. and since there are only *4* of us in class, it is not like she can forget who asked. :- [idiot! idiot! embętant!]
second: i have the world's best hubby :-)
so... there is this computer desk that i really want to get. right now my 'puter at home is in the living room, which has pros and cons. the pro is that i actually do get the bills paid on time, which is an amazing feat for me. the con is that the desk is too big so my "corner" is ALWAYS a pit of papers and magazines and ads and junk. and my monitor is so big that there is no room for my keyboard, so it is really hard to type.
i've been visiting my desk at best buy, periodically. i just go in after weight watchers, or when michael is shopping for other things, and sit and look at it. and dream about when we get it sometime this summer, how nice it will be. we have to do something different before it is air conditioner season here, since my writing desk got moved in front of the window where the air conditioner is supposed to go, in order to make room for the big computer desk. and the nicest thing about this desk that i really want is that there are DOORS! so i can hide my 'puter and my mess when i am not over there working.
so, michael emailed me on tuesday afternoon from kansas city that he had a surprise for me when he got home. would you have guessed by now that he bought my desk for me!!! and what a surprise when his friend tom brought the boxes over last night!! i was jumping up and down in little circles, i was so excited! for real! no kidding! [don't all the exclamation points give you a clue here?]
he's sooooo cool. :-)
so for date night tonight, i insisted that we have a desk-assembling party :-) can't wait to make a BIG ol' mess in my living room. yay!
part3: i have great friends, too
so, i have 3 of the most wonderful girl friends that anyone has ever been blessed with. all of them are great and wonderful and complete a different part of me in some way. and i often wonder how i got to be so lucky to have not one, but three dear, close friends.
but, today's happy is about my best friend in california, J.
so... this is my friend getting married in june. and we've been talking about the clarinet solo that i agreed to play for her as part of the ceremony. she and her fiancé picked out music so i didn't have to.. and i've been bugging her to send it out like she promised, so i can see if it will work, unaccompanied.
so yesterday when we were talking, she said she had a "bunch " of stuff to send me. and ... i thought it was kind of a big box that i got this morning for just sheet music.
she's so-o-o cool. not because she buys me stuff, but because she thinks of me, and knows what things i would like.
surprise #1 from my best friend:
TINY flat hard case for my sunglasses!
i wear glasses. so for my sunglasses i have the clip on generic kind that are just lenses, with four small "hooks" that slide over your lenses to hold the sunglasses in place. and, those hooks are very thing metal and are very delicate. michael and i are both constantly squashing them and having to re-bend them so the sunglasses are still useable. regular soft glasses cases are no help... cuz the hooks still get squashed. all the soft cases do is keep the lenses from getting scratched. regular hard cases are great... but they are so BIG they are a pain to carry around. i keep my shades in my purse. the big ol' honking cases are so big that there's not much room for anything else in my purse.
so J. found me a case that is only 1/4" tall! it is perfect! just room enough for the clip-ons, hard sided to protect the little hooks, and still small enough to fit in my purse. or, michael's pocket for that. i told her i'd have to go look for one for him, now, too. i didn't know they actually existed. it's soo cool!
surprise #2 from best friend:
cute little t-shirt.....
the graphic?
is a chemical molecule model.... you know, the one that you have to draw in chemistry class?....
...of caffeine ;-)
she thought it was appropriate.
so do i.
i can't wait to wear it!
so, chickies... that's the scoop for today. and look. it took 20 minutes to type this all out. must have had more to say than i thought i did. and eventually i will figure out how to change my site to look cool! :-)
until then...
sign my book and say hello.
thanks much to: jorgi, i know who you are, sophie, trini, and julie for dropping me a line lately. THANKS!
