Jun. 02, 2003 - 3:30 p.m. One year, five months, 13 days, and 22 1/2 hours ago...the greatest man I have ever known gently slipped away into eternal sleep with grace and dignity. He was a man of honesty and quiet convictions, and I hope to live my life with some small fraction of the integrety he possesed. Even in dying, he showed us how to live. Each moment you have with a friend and loved one is precious. Make each moment deliberate, each memory priceless. And then.... treasure the memories for what they are, never sorrowing for lack of more, but rejoicing for what you do have, the time with which you were graced. Rejoice in life, as the most fitting memorial to those who have gone on. and as long as they live in your hearts, no one is ever truly gone. sleep well, dear heart. we'll see you in the morning.
